Gooney to have lunch with us. He’s just like George. Ol & boys watered garden all day. Ollie called long distance from N.Y. She’s having lots of fun, just a little homesick.
Gooney is Uri S. French Alice Marie’s brother-in-law.

Went to see Dr. Helbing. I just feel awful. Gave me some pills. Ol & I went to Dallas to have dinner with Largent Parks, then Saw Blossom Time. Enjoyed it lots. Jack went to work for Daddy.

We Met Geo. L. at 4:30 A.M. in the train yards. He’s going to W. Coast – Expects furlough before sailing. Ol worked all night.

Sewed all day making me a Bimberg* crepe night gown. Coffee with folks. It’s rained all day. Kides & I went to see “Tree Grown in Brooklyn”. Poor Ol worries all night about help.

Sunday, made jelly – Alice M. made fig preserves. For lunch we had fried chicken out of our locker, green beans, corn out of our garden, salad & peach cobbler with whipped cream. I’m a good russler.
I’m sure she meant rustler. Meat was still very hard to get.
