Geo. Has a little temp & lots of asthma – Didn’t go to S.S. – Did go to Meacham Canteen – Ol lazied around all day. Bursey’s came over in eve.

Ambulance wrecked – No one hurt – Kept Geo. Home in bed all day – I did the laundry

Geo. Home today – I ironed & cleaned – Canteen in afternoon to see about new coffee urn.

Hair dresser – Bought first things for Alice Marie’s baby. According to the Gov. Babies are not to wear clothes. Can’t even find – More ironing – Geo. To school

Now that is special sacrifice for the war effort – No baby clothes. What‘s a Grammie to do?

Sunday School – Home coming dinner in eve with J. Lewis – They have new home in Monticello

Canteen – Work was started on enlargement of bldg. Boys on base not allowed to come in Canteen now – Letter from kids.

This enlargement finished March 9.

Feel lazy – Doing just what has to be done – Inspection Drill Dance Shrine – Marzelle going with us.

Stayed home from Sunday School. Alice M. & Geo called. We went to see Wyatt’s new home.

Night Club Wyatt’s (She didn’t have it) – Had it at Nep Calloway’s – They (Wyatt’s) are living there while building their new home – Hair dress – Went to hear Grace Moore – Ol gave me orchid.

Luncheon with Bess Trimble. Tea at Bernice Heads in afternoon – Ol went to Selective Service meeting.

Canteen, Clean house – Had Melinas, Twiss, G.A. Chestnut & McCauls over for eve. Just chatted - Ollie went to school dance with Leslie Helbing – Jack took June.

Ol & I had lunch with Jewel Bomar for National Red Cross, Mrs. Dockery. Enjoyed it a lot. A.M. & Geo Called. They are being transferred to Eagle Mt. We are to pick A.M. up at New Orleans or Little Rock. – Had waffles with Bursey’s.

Received telegram from Geo. Meet him in New Orleans Thurs. Left home at 5 P.M. today – took Geo. Shannon – Stayed all night in Shreveport.

Arrived in N.O. at 6 P.M. Nice long slow trip. Geo arrived at 9:30. A.M. will arrive tomorrow night.

Oleo Whalen took us sight seeing. – Had dinner with them. A.M. arrived at 9 P.M. tired and worn out.

Saw N.O. today – Nell Whalen went with us. – antiques – Daddy & Geo. Rode every thing.

Picked up – I stayed with Mrs. Annetta – Mrs. Bursey & I went to Ireland Hampton’s for Flowers. Had box for Stock Show – Mrs. Bursey went in my place with my family.

Hair done – I had Bridge Club here. A.M. & I took Nell Whalen out to lunch at Blackstone.

Canteen – Isabelle Lewis Came in from Calif. Hired maid to cook eve. Meal & do dishes $13 week.

Bought new blue grea formal. Isabelle & A.M. shortened it. Ol & I went to Shrine Dance – had hair done.

Shopped – Lunch at Blackstone – Cocktail party in eve. – Bomars, Thomas, Pumphreys, Armstrongs.

Worked all day for Camp Fire party tonight – Miss Dinely here.

Becky didn’t come – Shopped – A.M., Isabelle & I had lunch at Ft. Worth Club with Mrs. Bomar & Mother – Ol went to stag party Shrine.

(still can’t decide if it’s Bomar or Boman.)

Kids all went to church – Little boys play in orchard – Maid didn’t show up. I made mistake of paying her off.

Isabelle leaves for Buffalo – 1907 Study Club open meeting – Guess I won’t make it. – Geo called late for physical at base – Goes to Cherry Point again in Morn. 7:30

These boys move quick – Orders last nite – Geo left 7:30 this A.M. doesn’t know what it means.

I have felt terrible these few days – didn’t have hair done today – We served.
