Everything still in floor – A dull 4th, but a happy one. – Peaceful – Ollie & James Lafferty have decided to become engaged.

A.M., Ollie & I shopped all afternoon. – Bought blue crepe for Ollie’s brides maid dress. – Bill sick with head ache, high fever. Elbertine has same operation I had.

Ollie & I went to town to finish up for the wedding. – Having their hats made of horse hair braid. – Ollie left tonight for Tulsa Camp Fire Camp.

Still hot 108° - Isabell & I went to town – Had lunch at Blackstone – Took Bradley Burks to airport – His last trip home for a while – Feel sorry for Marzell.

Went to Canteen field this morning. – Talked on phone – cooked lunch – Ol going to Patrol Meeting. I talk on phone 4 to 6 hrs. daily for Red Cross.

Canteen – Ol & I looked all afternoon for Farm around Azle. –Went to see Mrs. Gage’s place antique shop(won’t do) – Found something (….?) good.

Becky came this morn for ½ day – Prep and juce from grapes for jelly.

Marzelle called asking us to go see Bradley with her. – He’s still in Jackson, Miss. – I made some jelly today. – We found the farm. Creek & everything.

Ol & I left this morn at 7 P.M. with Marzelle & Onetta Thompson. – Her husband is at camp Shelby. – Left the kids in charge. Arrived in Jackson 5:30 P.M.

Fred Bursey shot at 1 A.M. this morn. – Still don’t feel good. – It’s raining. Ollie & I went to town , bought her bed spreads. – she’s taking the frills out of her room since Sis has left.

Hair dresser 10:30 A.M. Marzelle, Lella, Ester Ruth had lunch with me. Finally late we had wire from A.M. & Geo. They are O.K. Bought Ma’s, Jack, Bill’s Xmas presents.

Munnie’s early Christmas shopping was legendary.

[Granddad was a ‘Band Dad’ too. Dan & Pam spent 16 years, ’92 to ’08, chaperoning, hauling equipment and riding "yellow dog" buses.]

Geo has fever. – something he ate, we thought. – cooler weather, high fever & chills. Broke out in puffy welts & red rash. – Turned out to be typhus fever. – sick at tummy a little he’s lucky

1907 Literary Club meets at Mrs. Ford Bradish – Can’t go on account of Geo. – Geo temp runs to 104°. – I have to keep it down with aspirin. – Chill, then fever.
