Had my hair cut for the first time in years had my first permanent. No one noticed it but Alice Marie was I burned up. She cried.

Worked in yard. Sunday School meeting at church. Sew for Red Cross.

Worked in yard – looks pretty good after all the work.

Canteen Class meets at Pascal High - Flop. I am Chairman for N.S. district 3 Mildred (JR) Switzer Co-Chairman. Dinner at church

She corrected the spelling of 'canteen' here.

Fired Dixie Mae, she left George at Magoffin’s the ironing board was on fire- no one here. Drove to lake with OL.

Stayed home & cooked all day. Picture show in evening.

Worked all day. Alice Marie started working Western Auto Supply after school. Likes it works from 5 to 7

Dug out where Dixie mae had failed to reach. Cut out Ollie a dress.

Trying out a new girl – Lois. Alice Marie gets Social Security Card Ice Capades in eve.

Garden Club meets in Park. Centeen meeting Gas Auditorium 2 to 5.

Worked in house and yard all day. Played rummy at Burks’ in eve.

Played chauffeur all morning; did get down to Netas for sat. morn. coffee. Worked all afternoon let Lois go, worse than nothing.

Sunday School, picture show at night. I am my maid they can’t beat me if I can just hold out. 2 Floods on Marine Creek ruined business dist.

Go to church for Concretation Day. Canteen called out to feed negroes and workmen worked all day and night.

Fed breakfast in Shilo Church for Negros – lunch closed down after lunch everyone dead. Still no help at home, children were grand.

Was Shilo Church a Negreo church wiped out by flood on Apr. 19?

Laundried uniform, called out at noon to issue food tickets, made appointment at hair dresser. Bridge Club in evening.

Jessie supposed to come to work but they are not working after the flood. Attended last flood meeting at Poly High gave report.

Was “they” the Negroes that were flooded out 4/19?

Worked all day attended canteen. Had another flood. Fed lunch, supper and used truck on yards.

Fed negros breakfast and lunch then closed down. Still no help at home. Dance at Temple with Ol was I dead.
