Snowed last night and most of today. Ol in bed with cold, everyone stayed home today, Everyone lazied around but me. I am nurse. (No company for lunch)

Still cold everyone out in school or work, George still playing & asking questions, sewing & working on A.M.
Normandy.
Normandy invasion wasn't until June 6 '44. Why does this entry end with 'Normandy'?

Camp Fire executive meeting here at 4PM. Jack home with a cold main reason he was promoted to sergeant in Cadets & didn’t have stripes. So I went after them.

Nutrition Class. Town all morning with Elbertine, rained
Thursday
5-Mar-42
S.S. all day meeting at church didn’t go my eyes were killing me. Stayed in bed. Ollies Blue Birds danced at Glen Garden at meeting for Nat. Pres. Bill filled in for girl sick.
Why was there an all day S. S. (Sunday School?) meeting on Friday?
Nutrition Class. Go to town to return what I bought Wed.
Some how the days get confused here.

We let A.M. know she wasn’t getting by with smoking we knew it. She is very dissatisfies with her work wants to change. Always something, Ol goes to Shrine tonight.

The children just run me crazy about the car. They can’t walk one block and cant think of more places to go. Melain in town.

Sunday School A.M. stood Dick up, he shows up at Fellowship, courtship over (good sign) We saw picture show in afternoon, played bridge at Bursey’s in evening.

Lecture at women’s Club (Nutrition) Served all morning. George has Asma. Uncle Charlie came in.

Cooking School learning lots. Pa came down and read the riot act to us all, over the Government. Wants OL to give up Draft Board.

Uncle Charlie left. Cooking School. I had Wed. night club here Petteways played in Bursey’s place, Flossie & family moved back from Canada.

Tried on dress at Mrs. Ramey’s. Worked in Yard, Cooking School, went to bed at 7P.M. Ol went to the Shrine meeting.

Had to take A.M. to school (work) as I do every day (disgusted). Cooking School.

Ol goes to stag party Shrine, Ol attended Funeral Directors meeting in Dallas. Both girls went to town on Bus for the first time. I am working on odds & ends.

All of this nutrition and cooking training "pays off" as she become the manager for the Red Cross Canteen. They fed 125 MILLION meals nationwide during the war years. See note on April 1, '46.
